Taste of Turks and Caicos 2023

South Caicos Featured Photos

South Caicos also locally known as the ‘The Big South’, ‘Harbour island’ and ‘HB’, is the 7th largest island in the Turks and Caicos.
This island is known as the fishing capital of the nation, with amazing ecosystems sites for diving and snorkeling, and the beaches has great spots to relax peacefully.
South Caicos has contributed to the TCI development and it’s history; during the salt mining industry that started in the late 1600s, South Caicos long side Grand Turk and Salt Cay the three smallest Caicos islands provided one of the largest distributions of Sea Salt in the region, which was known amongst merchants and traders as the best sea salt during that era.
The South Caicos ‘Regatta’ is one of the oldest annual festival in the Turks and Caicos islands, which commenced during the Royal visit of the late Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II and the late HRH Prince Philip in the year of 1966.
This beautiful quiet island has a small population, and the residents are the nicest and friendliest people you’ll ever meet.
If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with delicious island food and drinks without the overcrowding of people and the fast busy life, take a trip to South Caicos, it’s definitely worth the visit.
